Central Valley News I’m Edmer Archila,
Copiers are working overtime as ballots for eastern Ukraine’s referendum on secession are being prepared.
In apparent defiance of a call by Russian President Vladimir Putin to put off the vote, eastern Ukraine insisted Thursday they will go ahead with their plans.
This will not be the same as the Crimean vote. This referendum is taking place amidst armed conflict. In addition, the demographics of the area are different. Where Crimea has more Russian-speaking populations. Eastern Ukraine has more of a mixed population.
A Clovis Marine is being called a hero after he rescued an injured driver out of a recked van on Highway 41 near Hanford.
Seargant Robert Blundell was driving in that area when the accident took place in front of him. That’s when his military training kicked in as he kicked in the windshield and pulled the driver to safety.
The man rescued from the van is expected to be ok.
